The National Museum<\/a>, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Sultanate of Oman, held an official reception and a photo exhibition marking the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Oman and the Russian Federation, coinciding with the launch of the musical season of the Rosconcert Foundation.<\/a><\/p>\n

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs <\/a>\u00a0, in the presence of Oleg Vladimirovich Levin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Oman,<\/a> and a number of officials.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Sheikh Khalifa, said that Omani-Russian relations have witnessed remarkable development in recent years, crowned by the recent visit<\/a> of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik<\/a> to the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

He added that the two friendly countries have recently seen increased trade and investment exchanges and the signing of several agreements and memoranda of cooperation, which reflect the mutual interest both nations attach to strengthening their ties.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Russian Ambassador said that relations between the two countries have witnessed significant progress over the past four decades. He noted that the exhibition held alongside the ceremony reflects the joint efforts to further develop relations between Oman and Russia.<\/p>\n

He added that cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries continues through a range of projects, most notably the Russian Seasons hosted by Oman this year, as well as exhibitions featuring artefacts from the State Hermitage Museum.<\/p>\n

He said out that the current exhibition includes rare photographs and historical documents that chronicle the development of Omani-Russian relations from their beginnings to the present day.<\/p>\n

Andrey Erishko, Director General of the Rosconcert Foundation, said that launching the musical season at the National Museum reflects the depth of cultural cooperation between the two countries and provides opportunities to exchange artistic expertise and traditions. He noted that the project features leading Russian ensembles that will present a variety of musical performances throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, the patron of the ceremony, inaugurated the art exhibition showcasing key milestones in Omani-Russian relations.<\/p>\n

The exhibition features a unique collection of historical photographs and rare documents from the archives of Russian foreign policy, documenting key meetings and encounters that have contributed to strengthening relations.<\/p>\n

The evening also included artistic and musical performances by several Russian artists, including Dinara Alieva, Igor Morozov and Lyubov Vingek, which were warmly received by the audience.<\/p>\n

\"Celebration<\/p>\n

The musical season includes six further performances scheduled to be held at the National Museum before the end of this year, as part of efforts to enhance cultural and artistic cooperation between Oman and the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n
