{"id":29715,"date":"2025-10-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-26T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/29715\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T07:16:39","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T07:16:39","slug":"12-rise-in-active-private-enterprises-in-oman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/en\/29715\/","title":{"rendered":"12% rise in active private enterprises in Oman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The number of active private enterprises in the Sultanate of Oman rose by 12.1% in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, reaching nearly 283,000 enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>According to data issued by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsi.gov.om\/ar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI)<\/a>, micro-enterprises recorded the highest growth rate, rising by 14.3% to 251,000 compared to the second quarter of 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The number of medium-sized enterprises saw a slight increase of 0.1%, while large enterprises rose by 1.6%. Small enterprises declined by 3.1%, reaching 29,000.<\/p>\n<p>The total value added by all private enterprises decreased by 0.8%, amounting to OMR 8.147 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Micro-enterprises contributed the largest share to GDP, up by 3.8% to OMR 817 million. The value added by small enterprises rose by 3.6% to OMR 673 million, while medium-sized enterprises recorded a 1.2% increase to OMR 626 million. Large enterprises saw a 2% decline in value added, totalling OMR 6.031 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The total number of employees in private enterprises reached about 1,802,972 in Q2 2025, marking a rise of 1.2% compared to Q2 2024<\/p>\n<p>Employment in micro-enterprises grew by 3.9%, reaching nearly 697,000 workers.
