His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik<\/a> and President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye presided over a ceremony at Al Alam Palace that saw the signing of a joint declaration and communiqu\u00e9, six agreements and eight memoranda of understanding (MoUs).<\/p>\n

The ceremony took place within the context of the Turkish President\u2019s state visit to the Sultanate of Oman.<\/p>\n

The signings included the signing of an agreement establishing the Omani-Turkish Coordinating Council. In addition, capital participation agreements were signed between Amber Limited (a special purpose company owned by Oman Investment Authority and the Turkish OYAK Fund) and the Turkish OYAK Fund. A capital participation agreement was also signed between the Uzbek-Omani Company (Uzbek Oman) and the Turkish OYAK Fund.<\/p>\n

Additional agreements covered cooperation between Oman Food Investment Holding Company (Nitaj) and the OYAK Holding for Food and Agriculture, and cooperation between Oman Data Company and the Turkish information technology firm Inovance. A further cooperation agreement was also signed between the Government of Oman and the Government of T\u00fcrkiye regarding the allocation of land for the Turkish Maarif Foundation to establish an educational institution. There was also an agreement signed regarding a partnership between Sinan Advanced Industries and the Turkish company ASELSAN.<\/p>\n

The MoUs that were signed cover military collaboration and defence industries, technology, innovation and strategic cooperation between Oman Investment Authority and T\u00fcrkiye Wealth Fund. They also cover cooperation in fields of mining and rare minerals.<\/p>\n

A memorandum of understanding in the fields of media and communications was also signed between Oman’s \u00a0Ministry of Information and the Communications Directorate of the Presidency of the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye<\/p>\n

Signing on behalf of the Omani government were: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, Foreign Minister<\/a>; Dr Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information; Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority<\/a>; Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion<\/a>; Dr Khalfan bin Said Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning; Engineer Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals; Dr Mohammed bin Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence; and Majid bin Sultan Al Hinai, CEO of Sinan Advanced Industries.<\/p>\n

Signing on behalf of the Turkish government were: Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs<\/a>; Yasar Guler, Minister of Defence; Haluk Gorgun, President of the Defence Industries; \u00a0Burhanettin Duran, Head of the Presidential Communications Directorate; Omer Bolat, Minister of Trade; Mehmet Fatih Kac\u0131r, Minister of Industry and Technology; Murat Yal\u00e7\u0131nta\u015f, General Manager of OYAK Group; Mahmut M. Ozdil, Chairman of Turkish Maarif Foundation; Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Murat Yal\u00e7\u0131nta\u015f, General Manager of ASELSAN Company.<\/p>\n
