{"id":29490,"date":"2025-10-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/29490\/"},"modified":"2025-12-31T12:20:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T12:20:13","slug":"eu-announces-launch-of-new-system-to-register-travellers-entry-and-exit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/en\/29490\/","title":{"rendered":"EU announces launch of new system to register travellers\u2019 entry and exit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Foreign Ministry would like to inform travellers to Europe that the European Commission has announced the implementation of a new system for recording the entry and exit of non European Union travellers to <a href=\"https:\/\/european-union.europa.eu\/index_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EU<\/a> countries, called the European Entry-Exit System (EES),.<\/p>\n<p>Starting from October 12, 2025, the system will be gradually implemented at the external borders of 29 European countries over a period of six months, with full implementation to be completed by April 10, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The introduction of the EES does not remove the requirement for a Schengen visa.
