On the Royal Directive of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik<\/a>, Sayyid Badr <\/a>Albusaidi, Foreign Minister<\/a>, headed the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt in the city of Sharm El-Sheikh.<\/p>\n

The summit, attended by world leaders and representatives of regional and international organisations, witnessed the signing of the historic peace plan of the mediating states, the United States of America, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of T\u00fcrkiye and the State of Qatar, to consolidate the ceasefire in Gaza, and to support the path toward a just and comprehensive peace in the region.<\/p>\n

The Minister expressed the Sultanate of Oman\u2019s appreciation to the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi<\/a> and the President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump<\/a> for co-chairing this historic summit. He noted that the past two years had witnessed horrific human tragedies, and that the ceasefire had saved hundreds of lives and restored hope to thousands of Palestinian families. He affirmed that this moment represents a genuine opportunity to launch a serious path towards achieving comprehensive and lasting justice for this cherished region of the world.<\/p>\n

Sayyid Badr added that the road ahead remains long and full of challenges, yet sincere cooperation and joint action strengthen the chances of achieving a future marked by lasting peace and shared prosperity. He affirmed that the Sultanate of Oman will remain a faithful advocate of peace and an active supporter of every effort that upholds the values of understanding, coexistence, and the rule of law.<\/p>\n

Oman\u2019s participation in the summit reflects its consistent position calling for dialogue resolving conflicts through peaceful means, and its support for international and regional efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability and achieving just and lasting peace in the region and the world.<\/p>\n
