{"id":28442,"date":"2025-09-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-20T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/28442\/"},"modified":"2025-12-31T12:19:23","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T12:19:23","slug":"on-his-majestys-service-sayyid-bilarab-leads-delegation-to-expo-2025-japan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/en\/28442\/","title":{"rendered":"On His Majesty\u2019s service, Sayyid Bilarab leads delegation to Expo 2025 Japan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On behalf of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/about-oman\/state\/head-of-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik<\/a>, His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham led the Omani delegation at the National Day celebration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expo2025.or.jp\/en\/official-participant\/oman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sultanate of Oman Pavilion<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expo2025.or.jp\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>His Highness was welcomed upon arrival by <a href=\"https:\/\/japan.kantei.go.jp\/102_ishiba\/meibo\/daijin\/ito_yoshitaka_e.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yoshitaka<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/japan.kantei.go.jp\/102_ishiba\/meibo\/daijin\/ito_yoshitaka_e.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ito, Minister for the 2025 World Expo<\/a>, alongside senior Japanese government officials.<\/p>\n<p><img data-opt-id=1289512354  fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-91731\" src=\"https:\/\/mlzlkxvcvliz.i.optimole.com\/cb:ghTT.1f99\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/g:sm\/f:best\/https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/wp-content\/uploads\/Japan-6-600x300-1.jpeg\" alt=\"On His Majesty\u2019s service, His Highness Sayyid Bilarab leads delegation for Oman Pavilion National Day at Expo 2025\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sayyid Bilarab signed the Expo 2025 Osaka VIP guestbook and attended a ceremony held in his honour at the Yumeshimanaka Hall, where he participated in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>The event opened with the raising of the Omani flag in the Expo\u2019s main square and the playing of the Royal Anthem of the Sultanate of Oman and the National Anthem of Japan, recognising the strong ties between the two nations.<\/p>\n<p>In his address, Minister Ito highlighted the enduring relationship between Oman and Japan, noting their shared history and ongoing cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised the significance of the Oman Pavilion\u2019s theme, &#8220;Earth, Water, and Humanity,&#8221; which showcases a vision of future society living in harmony with nature.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Ito expressed his hope that the Expo would help share Oman\u2019s unique appeal with Japan and the world.<\/p>\n<p><img data-opt-id=1276380890  fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-91735 size-fusion-800\" src=\"https:\/\/mlzlkxvcvliz.i.optimole.com\/cb:ghTT.1f99\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/g:sm\/f:best\/https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/wp-content\/uploads\/Japan-3-2-800x533-1.jpeg\" alt=\"On His Majesty\u2019s service, His Highness Sayyid Bilarab leads delegation for Oman Pavilion National Day at Expo 2025\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sayyid Said bin Sultan Albusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth for Culture and Commissioner-General of the Oman Pavilion, noted that Oman\u2019s participation reflects the nation\u2019s achievements during its ongoing renaissance\u2014a period marked by extending ties with diverse cultures, inspired by a history of tolerance and civilisational exchange. He noted that Oman\u2019s spirit of interaction stems from water, earth, and humanity, enabling its people to share their identity, culture, and values of peace while embracing global cultures.<\/p>\n<p>He further explained that the National Day ceremony symbolises Oman\u2019s deep connections to these elements and emphasises the importance of intercultural communication.<\/p>\n<p>The design of the Oman Pavilion, he added, is a result of the creativity of Omani youth\u2014a winning project from the Bilarab bin Haitham Award for Architectural Design, which encourages innovation and connects Omani architectural identity with future aspirations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough the Expo, Oman celebrates its culture and builds bridges of communication with the world,\u201d he said. \u201cThe Pavilion offers an interactive, informative, and welcoming space where visitors can connect with the themes of earth, water, and humanity, and explore our shared commitment to harmonious coexistence with nature.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony featured a musical performance by the Royal Cavalry Music Band, including their specially composed Expo 2025 piece, as well as traditional Omani melodies. The program also included a piece from the Japanese animated fantasy film \u201cAlways With Me\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img data-opt-id=2026828133  data-opt-src=\"https:\/\/mlzlkxvcvliz.i.optimole.com\/cb:ghTT.1f99\/w:auto\/h:auto\/q:mauto\/g:sm\/f:best\/https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/wp-content\/uploads\/Japan-4-2-800x533-1.jpeg\"  decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-91737 size-fusion-800\" src=\"data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20viewBox%3D%220%200%20100%%20100%%22%20width%3D%22100%%22%20height%3D%22100%%22%20xmlns%3D%22http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%22%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%22100%%22%20height%3D%22100%%22%20fill%3D%22transparent%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" alt=\"On His Majesty\u2019s service, His Highness Sayyid Bilarab leads delegation for Oman Pavilion National Day at Expo 2025\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Traditional Omani folk arts\u2014including Al Azi, Al Razha, and Al Midan\u2014were staged, along with a sign language performance expressing national belonging.<\/p>\n<p>His Highness then toured the Oman Pavilion, beginning with the Water Corridor, which connects the interior exhibition halls with the exterior space and features curated inscriptions from Omani and Japanese heritage on water culture.<\/p>\n<p>In the Earth and Water Hall, His Highness Sayyid Bilarab viewed an audio visual presentation depicting the origins of natural life in Oman through the interaction of water and earth, showcasing the nation\u2019s diverse flora and fauna.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts, including a presentation to His Highness from the Japanese government by Minister Ito.<\/p>\n<p>This event is part of a broader programme of more than thirty activities organised by Oman throughout its participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, aimed at introducing the country\u2019s history, culture, and initiatives in sustainability, energy, and innovation.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony was attended by senior officials from Oman, Japan, and other friendly nations.<\/p>\n<p>Later, His Highness Sayyid Bilarab and his delegation visited the Japan Pavilion, where they were received by the Director of the Japan Pavilion, Noriyuki Kuroda.
