The Foreign Ministry held a\u00a0workshop to discuss the draft of Oman\u2019s Fourth National Report under the Universal Periodic Review mechanism on human rights.<\/p>\n

The workshop forms part of preparations to present the report to the United Nations Human Rights Council<\/a> in November 2025.<\/p>\n

The workshop reflects the Sultanate’s ongoing efforts to advance its international commitments in the field of human rights.<\/p>\n

Oman has previously ratified several international conventions, including the Convention against Torture<\/a>, the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance<\/a> and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"Workshop<\/p>\n

The workshop brought together representatives from relevant government entities, civil society organisations, and human rights experts.<\/p>\n

Participants reviewed progress made in implementing previous recommendations and discussed key challenges and opportunities in promoting and protecting human rights in the Sultanate of Oman.<\/p>\n

The Sultanate of Oman is scheduled to submit its Fourth National Report under the Universal Periodic Review mechanism<\/a> in November 2025 and it will be reviewed by the Human Rights Council in Geneva in January.<\/p>\n
