An official reception ceremony was held at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik<\/a> on the occasion of his state visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Upon His Majesty\u2019s arrival, he was received by King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands<\/a> and his spouse Queen M\u00e1xima<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The King and the Queen welcomed His Majesty the Sultan, wishing him and his accompanying delegation a successful visit and a pleasant stay in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

After that, His Majesty the Sultan, the King and the Queen ascended the main dais, where the Omani Royal Anthem and the Netherlands Royal Anthem were played.<\/p>\n

His Majesty then inspected the guard of honour.<\/p>\n

After that His Majesty the Sultan was welcomed by a group of young Omanis studying in the Netherlands, and by families of the staff of the Omani Embassy in the Netherlands..<\/p>\n

The King then escorted His Majesty inside to the main hall of the palace, where His Majesty shook hands with members of the welcoming party and the King and the Queen shook hands with the official Omani delegation.<\/p>\n

His Majesty also shook hands with Dick Schoof, Prime Minister of the Netherlands<\/a> and officials of the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Then, the King and His Majesty held a cordial meeting in the presence of the Omani and Netherlands delegations. The meeting reviewed the cooperation and partnership between Oman and the Netherlands, discussing how to promote relations to serve both countries.<\/p>\n
