Oman\u2019s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi<\/a> held a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts and with officials from regional and international organisations. The discussions aimed to strengthen cooperation and address issues of mutual interest on the sidelines of the 8th Indian Ocean Conference, hosted by Oman and organised by the Foreign Ministry.<\/p>\n

The meetings included discussions with Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India<\/a>; Osman Saleh Mohammed, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Eritrea; Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)<\/a>; Hassan Ali Joho, Minister of Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs of Kenya<\/a>; Ambassador Zhai Jun, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government to the Middle East; Dr Erywan Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam;<\/a> Dhananjay Ramphul, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and National Trade of Mauritius<\/a>; and Youssouf Mohamed Ali, Director of the Office of the President of the Union of the Comoros in charge of the Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n

The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors, including the blue economy, trade, energy, tourism, education, sustainable development and youth empowerment.<\/p>\n

The meetings also explored investment opportunities and ways to strengthen economic partnerships, emphasising the importance of infrastructure development and facilitating collaboration between the public and private sectors.<\/p>\n

The Foreign Ministers also discussed regional and international challenges facing the Indian Ocean region, including maritime security, climate change and joint efforts to promote regional stability. The meetings were marked by agreement on the importance of dialogue and diplomacy as key tools for fostering cooperation and addressing shared concerns.<\/p>\n

Oman\u2019s Foreign Minister reaffirmed the Sultanate\u2019s commitment to strengthening collaboration with countries and regional and international partners. He said that such cooperation contributes to sustainable development, enhances stability, and opens new avenues for partnerships that serve the common interests of all parties.<\/p>\n
