The second meeting of the Oman Saudi Coordination Council was held in Al Ula Governorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

The meeting was co chaired by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister the Sultanate of Oman<\/a>, and His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.<\/a><\/p>\n

In a speech to the meeting, Sayyid Badr said that the Coordination Council represents a strategic platform that embodies the will of the two countries\u2019 leaderships and their vision to enhance bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n

He added that relations between the two countries have seen remarkable progress since the first session of the Council in Muscat, in November, 2023.<\/p>\n

He said that the Council contributes to economic integration, expanding trade and joint investments and enhancing cooperation in the fields of energy, culture and tourism. The Council has also strengthened political coordination between the two countries on regional and international issues, he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cStrong cooperation between the two countries goes beyond serving their common interests; it extends to achieving regional stability and prosperity, notably amid the current challenges that require intensive diplomatic and economic coordination,\u201d the Foreign Minister said.<\/p>\n

Sayyid Badr congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on winning the bid to host the 25th FIFA World Cup in 2034.<\/p>\n

He said that this reflects an ambitious vision to make the tournament a success, adding impetus to the Kingdom\u2019s record of outstanding regional and international achievements.<\/p>\n

In his speech, His Highness Prince Faisal commended the efforts made to strengthen Saudi Omani relations, which, he said, commanded the attention of the leaderships of the two countries. He stressed the role of the two leaderships in consolidating cooperation and enhancing security and stability in the region.<\/p>\n

He noted that the second council meeting builds on the first held in Oman on November, 2023, during which 55 initiatives from the Council’s committees were launched. He commended the progress in implementing these initiatives and the positive outcomes of the committees\u2019 efforts, which, he said, were aimed at enhancing cooperation and integration between the two countries.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the meeting, the co chairs stressed the importance of developing the work of the Council and enhancing its role as an institutional arena for bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n

Participants at the meeting from Oman included: Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Ali Al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations and Chairman for Oman of the Security and Judicial Coordination Committee; Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs<\/a> and Chairman for Oman of the Political and Diplomatic Coordination Committee ; His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki bin Mahmoud Al Said, Oman’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia<\/a>; Sayyid Said bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Culture, Media, Tourism, and Social Development of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth<\/a>; Dr Saleh bin Said Masan, Undersecretary for Trade and Industry of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion<\/a> and Chairman for Oman of the Economic, Trade, and Industry Coordination Committee; and Mulhim bin Basheer Al Jarf, Deputy President for Investment at the Oman Investment Authority.<\/p>\n

Participants at the meeting from Saudi Arabia included: Dr Hisham Abdulrahman Al Falih, Assistant Minister of Interior; Ambassador Dr Saud Mohammed Al Sati, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; Albara bin Bassim Alaskandarani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Planning for International Economic Affairs; Mohammed bin Ali Al Sahib, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment for Investment Development; Engineer Fahd bin Saeed Al Harthy, Secretary of the Saudi Omani Coordination Council; and Abdullah Mohammed Al Raddadi, Director General for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n
