His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik,<\/a> the Supreme Commander, today presided over a military parade staged at Al Sumoud Camp of the Sultan\u2019s Special Force on the occasion of the 54th National Day.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

Symbolic units representing the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO), the Sultan\u2019s Special Force (SSF) and the Royal Oman Police (ROP), in addition to the ground and mounted military music bands, participated in the parade.<\/p>\n

Upon His Majesty\u2019s arrival at the parade ground, he was received by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nomani, Minister of the Royal Office; Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan\u2019s Armed Forces (SAF) and Major General Musallam bin Mohammed Jaaboub, Commander of the Sultan’s Special Force (SSF).<\/p>\n

When His Majesty ascended to the Royal Dais, columns of the parade performed the military salute. The joint corps of military bands played the Royal Anthem, while the Sultan of Oman\u2019s Artillery fired a 21-gun salute to His Majesty.<\/p>\n

The parade commander then stepped forward to the Royal Dais, requesting permission from His Majesty to begin the military parade.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

The joint corps of military music bands representing the SAF, the RGO, the ROP and the Royal Court Affairs (RCA) played as they marched in slow and normal pace before the Royal Dais.<\/p>\n

The ceremonial guard columns then conducted their military parade, accompanied by music performed by the joint military band, paying tribute to His Majesty, the Supreme Commander.<\/p>\n

This was followed by a mounted musical display by the mounted bands of the Royal Guard of Oman and the Royal Cavalry, as they passed in front of the Royal dais and saluted His Majesty.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/p>\n

The parade columns then performed the military anthem \u201cLong Live Oman\u201d and chanted their loyalty and allegiance declaration: \u201cFaith in God, loyalty to the Sultan, and defence of the nation.\u201d They then chanted three times: \u201cLong live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.\u201d<\/p>\n

The joint military band then played the Royal Anthem and the participating parade columns rendered the military salute to His Majesty, marking the conclusion of the military parade.<\/p>\n

His Majesty then departed the parade ground under the grace and protection of the Almighty.<\/p>\n

Accompanying His Majesty at the event were members of the Royal Family, Al Busaidi dignitaries, Ministers, advisers, Commanders of the Sultan\u2019s Armed Forces and other military and security services, Ambassadors of friendly and brotherly nations accredited to Oman, members of the State Council, members of the Shura Council, Undersecretaries, advisers, senior military and security officers, retirees, and a gathering of citizens.<\/p>\n
