{"id":17761,"date":"2024-10-21T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-21T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/17761\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T05:48:06","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T05:48:06","slug":"political-affairs-undersecretary-addresses-duqm-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/en\/17761\/","title":{"rendered":"Political Affairs Undersecretary addresses Duqm Forum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/en\/ministry\/about-us\/key-figures\/#Khalifa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs<\/a>, participated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/duqmforum.om\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fifth Duqm Forum<\/a>, currently being held in Muscat under the theme, &#8220;The Blue Economy &#8211; A New Investment Destination.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The forum is organised by the <a href=\"https:\/\/omanchamber.om\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry<\/a> in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry and the <a href=\"https:\/\/opaz.gov.om\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In his speech on behalf of the Foreign Ministry, Sheikh Khalifa highlighted the importance of the blue economy in harnessing oceanic riches sustainably for a prosperous future.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised the need to utilise and invest in it wisely to ensure future generations benefit from its resources given its economic returns and role in diversifying income sources.<\/p>\n<p>He also outlined the Ministry&#8217;s efforts in this area, recalling a conference it organised in 2014 on the blue economy.
