The Ministry of Energy and Minerals announced the signing of two key concession agreements to develop areas with promising indicators of abundant deposits of \u00a0chrome, copper, and silica (silicon dioxide).<\/p>\n

The agreements represent a significant step in advancing the development of the Sultanate\u2019s minerals sector as part of Oman\u2019s strategy to enhance the mining sector.<\/p>\n

Engineer Salim Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, signed the concession agreement for Area 11-A, located in Al Buraimi Governorate in northern Oman, with Humaid Al Maqbali, Chairman of Oman Chromite Company<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Studies have shown large quantities of copper and chrome in this area.<\/p>\n

For Concession Area 51-F, located in Al Wusta Governorate, the Minister signed the development agreement with Nasser Al Maqbali, CEO of Minerals Development Oman (MDO)<\/a>. Preliminary studies indicate substantial deposits of high-purity silica.<\/p>\n

The agreements commit both companies to comprehensive explorations including surveys, geological mapping and deep drilling to identify potential mineral deposits.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Energy and Minerals said that these agreements are a critical part of Oman\u2019s efforts to expand the Sultanate’s mining sector.
