{"id":13711,"date":"2024-05-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-25T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/13711\/"},"modified":"2025-12-31T12:05:23","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T12:05:23","slug":"oman-welcomes-decision-of-international-court-of-justice-regarding-israel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/en\/13711\/","title":{"rendered":"Oman welcomes decision of International Court of Justice regarding Israel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Foreign Ministry has studied the decision of the <a href=\"https:\/\/icj-cij.org\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Court of Justice in The Hague<\/a> regarding the genocide allegations directed against Israel. <a href=\"https:\/\/icj-cij.org\/sites\/default\/files\/case-related\/192\/192-20240524-ord-01-00-en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The decision<\/a> mandates additional urgent measures for the immediate cessation of military operations in Rafah and allowing humanitarian aid and investigation committees into the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<p>While expressing the Sultanate of Oman&#8217;s welcome of the Court&#8217;s decision in this regard, the Ministry calls on the international community, especially the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/securitycouncil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UN Security Council<\/a>, to hold Israel accountable for its responsibilities under international law and to implement the International Court of Justice&#8217;s decision for the immediate cessation of hostilities in the Palestinian territories.<\/p>\n<p>This is an unofficial English version of an Arabic report.
