His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan today on a two-day state visit.<\/p>\n

King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan led the welcoming party for His Majesty, receiving His Majesty at Marka Airport in the capital Amman and wishing him a pleasant stay in Jordan.<\/p>\n

Earlier, when the Royal Airplane “Nizwa” entered Jordanian airspace, it was escorted by a squadron from the Royal Jordanian Air Force, until its arrival at the Airport, in a manifestation of warm welcome.<\/p>\n

As soon as His Majesty descended from the Royal Airplane, a military band performed, while the artillery fired a 21-gun salute.<\/p>\n

\"His<\/p>\n

The two leaders headed to the airport square, passing between rows of honorary guards from the Jordan Royal Guard.<\/p>\n

Then His Majesty shook hands with senior members of the welcoming party: Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein (Head of the Mission of Honour); Prince Hashim bin Al Hussein; Prince Mired bin Raad; Dr Bisher Al Khasawneh, Prime Minister of Jordan; Faisal Al Fayiz, President of the Jordanian Senate; Ahmed Al Safadi, Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives; Mohammad Ghazo, Chief of the Supreme Judicial Council; Mohamed Al Mahadin, President of the Constitutional Court; Yousef Issawi, Chief of the Royal Court; Major General Yousef Al Hunaiti, Army Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Major General Ahmad Husni, Chief of the General Intelligence Department; Dr Khalid Touqan, Special Advisor to the King; Jaafar Hassan, Director of the King\u2019s Office; Kanaan Balawi, Advisor of the King for Tribal Affairs and Mohammad Karaki, Secretary General of the Royal Hashemite Court.<\/p>\n

King Abdullah in turn shook hands with members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty, wishing them a pleasant stay.<\/p>\n

King Abdullah then accompanied His Majesty to the Dais of Honour, where the Royal Anthem of Oman was played, followed by the Jordanian Royal Anthem. His Majesty the Sultan, accompanied by the King, then inspected the Guard of Honour, which saluted His Majesty.<\/p>\n

His Majesty and the Jordanian monarch then returned to the Dais of Honour and the protocol guard asked permission to dismiss. They passed before the Dais of Honour, giving the military salute to the two monarchs, as military aircraft performed a ceremonial flypast.<\/p>\n

Then, His Majesty shook hands with members of the Jordanian government, senior Jordanian civil and military officials and members of the Omani embassy in Jordan, reciprocating their greetings and sentiments.<\/p>\n

After that, His Majesty and the King of Jordan, boarded a motorcade to take them to Basman Palace.<\/p>\n

As the motorcade exited the airport gate, children lining the road, waved Omani and Jordanian flags demonstrating the special bond between the Sultanate of Oman and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.<\/p>\n

As soon as the motorcade entered Basman Palace, a convoy of red vehicles surrounded the car carrying the two monarchs, re-enacting a Jordanian Royal tradition that reflects warm welcome for a special guest of Jordan. A group of Royal Guard cavalry also escorted the motorcade in celebration of His Majesty\u2019s arrival in Jordan.<\/p>\n

The streets of Amman, were adorned with the flags of the Sultanate of Oman and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Jordanian students and citizens lined the sides of the road, chanting their welcome to express their delight at this historic visit of His Majesty and the high-ranking official delegation accompanying him.<\/p>\n
