The Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion, Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa Al Yousef, participated in the Tashkent International Investment Forum held in Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n

He was joined by business leaders and Oman’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, AlSayyida Wafa Jabr Nasser Albusaidi<\/a>.

On the sidelines of this the third forum, the Minister and the Ambassador were joined by Omani business leader Sheikh Saad bin Suhail Bahwan to meet the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev<\/a>. The strong Omani-Uzbek relations were discussed and ways of developing economic relations were explored.<\/p>\n

The Minister also met with a number of senior Uzbek officials including the Investment, Industry and Trade Minister, Kudratov Laziz Shavkatovich;\u00a0the Transport Minister Ilham Makhkamov and the Environment Minister responsible for tourism Abdukhakimov\u00a0Aziz Abdukaxarovich<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He also met the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhobov, and a number of Uzbek business leaders to discuss the challenges of import and export between the two countries.<\/p>\n

The possibility of staging an exhibition for Uzbek products in Muscat was also considered and exchange visits were planned to develop cooperation between the two chambers.<\/p>\n

The Minister also visited the Abu Rayhan Biruni Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan<\/a> which was built with Omani funding to underline the close relations between the two countries. It was opened in 2018 in the presence of a high-level Omani delegation.<\/p>\n

He also visited the Tashkent Techno Park<\/a>, an integrated technological complex that covers scientific research and industry operations and even the process of selling products. The complex provides a special economic environment to ensure the sustainable development of entrepreneurship.
