It is the chief executive body of the Sultanate of Oman.<\/div><div class=\"x-text x-content e404-e3-v0 mb8-3 mb8-4 mb8-5 fm-comp fm-text-standard\"><p>His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik is the Prime Minister and presides over meetings of the Council of Ministers.<\/p>\n<p>The Council of Ministers submits recommendations to His Majesty the Sultan on economic, social and administrative matters including proposing draft laws and decrees.<\/p><\/div><hr class=\"x-line e404-e4-v0 mb8-7\"\/><div class=\"x-text x-text-headline e404-e5-v0 mb8-8 fm-comp fm-h2\"><div class=\"x-text-content\"><div class=\"x-text-content-text\"><h2 class=\"x-text-content-text-primary\">Membership<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x-text x-content e404-e6-v0 mb8-3 mb8-4 mb8-5 fm-comp fm-text-standard\">Following<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/decree.om\/2022\/rd20220034\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-uw-rm-brl=\"PR\" data-uw-original-href=\"https:\/\/decree.om\/2022\/rd20220034\/\" aria-label=\"the decree issued in June 2022 - open in a new tab\" data-uw-rm-ext-link=\"\" uw-rm-external-link-id=\"https:\/\/decree.om\/2022\/rd20220034\/$thedecreeissuedinjune2022\">the decree issued in June 2022<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>by His Majesty Sultan Haitham, there are 24 members of the Council of Ministers.
