{"id":254,"date":"2025-08-07T12:43:55","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T12:43:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/?page_id=254"},"modified":"2026-02-12T07:53:36","modified_gmt":"2026-02-12T07:53:36","slug":"attestation-of-documents","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.fm.gov.om\/en\/citizens\/attestation-of-documents\/","title":{"rendered":"Attestation of documents"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"cs-content\" class=\"cs-content\"><div class=\"x-section e254-e1 m72-0\"><div class=\"x-row e254-e2 m72-1 m72-2\"><div class=\"x-row-inner\"><div class=\"x-col e254-e3 m72-3\"><div class=\"x-text x-content e254-e4-v0 m72-4 m72-5 fm-comp fm-text-intro\">The Foreign Ministry provides services to help Omani citizens, foreign residents, businesses, and visitors when they need to have documents attested.<\/div><div class=\"x-text x-content e254-e5 m72-5 m72-6\"><p>Document attestation is necessary when a person has an important official document, related to their personal, family or business affairs, and needs it certified as original.<\/p>\n<p>The Foreign Ministry is committed to improving consular services and to expedite attestation transactions.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry has therefore launched an electronic attestation system in cooperation with Oman Post. This operates across Oman and overseas. Please see below for further information.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that attestation services are no longer offered directly through the Foreign Ministry Consular Department or any attestation offices of the Ministry.<\/p>\n<p>All services are now provided via Oman Post, either electronically or through its selected branches.<\/p>\n<p>The following Oman Post branches currently provide attestation services:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n \t<li>Muscat \u2013 Al Mataar Al Murtafa\u2019at Branch<\/li>\n \t<li>Muscat \u2013 Qurum Branch<\/li>\n \t<li>A'Sharqiyah \u2013 Sur Branch<\/li>\n \t<li>Al Batinah \u2013 Sohar Branch<\/li>\n \t<li>A'Dakhiliyah \u2013 Nizwa Branch<\/li>\n \t<li>Dhofar \u2013 Central Salalah Branch<\/li>\n \t<li>Al Buraimi \u2013 Al Buraimi Branch<\/li>\n \t<li>Musandam \u2013 Khasab Branch<\/li>\n \t<li>Musandam \u2013 Madha Branch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Individuals both Omani and non-Omani who need to have their documents attested by the Foreign Ministry may use the electronic platform or, if necessary, they may visit the nearest Oman Post branch across the Sultanate listed above.<\/p>\n<p>Agents and representatives of companies and institutions must submit documents via Oman Post, either electronically or through its selected branches.<\/p>\n<p>There is a range of fees for these services as shown below.<\/p><\/div><hr class=\"x-line e254-e6-v0 m72-7\"\/><div class=\"x-text x-text-headline e254-e7-v0 m72-8 fm-comp fm-h2\"><div class=\"x-text-content\"><div class=\"x-text-content-text\"><h2 class=\"x-text-content-text-primary\">Electronic Attestation service via Oman Post<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"x-text x-content e254-e8 m72-5 m72-6\"><p>The Foreign Ministry has launched an electronic attestation system in cooperation with Oman Post.<\/p>\n<p>This is in accordance with the Ministry\u2019s commitment to providing high-quality consular services, supporting the digital transformation process within the framework of Oman Vision 2040, facilitating procedures for service recipients, and enhancing the digitisation of transactions.<\/p>\n<p>This service is being activated in a number of sister and friendly countries, with the aim of enabling beneficiaries to complete the attestation process by submitting applications electronically without having to visit the Sultanate of Oman\u2019s Embassies or Consulates abroad.<\/p>\n<p>The countries in which the service has been launched so far include: the GCC countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE) as well as: Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Pakistan, the Philippines, Portugal, Spain, Sri Lanka,
