He noted that this historic moment stands as a testament to Egypt’s enduring legacy of accomplishments, expressing his sincere wishes for the nation’s continued prosperity and brilliance in its cultural, civilizational and development pursuits.

The idea for the Grand Egyptian Museum began in the 1990s, with the foundation stone laid for the project in 2002 at a prime location overlooking the Giza Pyramids. The design concept was inspired by the extension of sunrays emanating from the peaks of the three pyramids, converging at the museum’s main structure.

The Museum stands as an integrated global cultural and civilisational landmark, housing rare artefacts, most notably the complete collection of King Tutankhamun’s treasures displayed together for the first time, alongside the collection of Queen Hetepheres and the Khufu Solar Ships, in addition to possessions spanning from the pre-dynastic period to the Greek and Roman eras.

His Highness Sayyid Theyazin was accompanied during the inauguration by an official delegation that included Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism; Sayyid Said bin Sultan Albusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture; Jamal bin Hassan Al Moosawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum; and Abdullah bin Nasser Alrahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League.
